How much weight can each height of the IVAR units hold? The site lists the per-shelf weight, but not the total unit weight. This is an issue because I'm constructing a library out of them and need to know how heavily I can load each unit.
Thanks,

Hello [Issendai]-
Thanks for writing to us!
We would be happy to assist you with this. However, we do need for you to specify which size IVAR shelf units you are interested in.
We do hope that this information has been helpful, and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist you.

Hi Connie,
The system is going to include all three heights of the shallower set of uprights, and both the longer and the shorter shelves. We won't be using corner units.
Thanks,

Hello [Issendai] ,
Thank you for your interest in IKEA. We appreciate that you have taken the time to contact us.
Not all products have a published weight limit. The IVAR side unit is a well designed product and will provide good function for which it is designed. The design, weight capacity and function of each product undergoes test to ensure the product will hold up to normal use. If the product is used for something other than the designed function, IKEA is not responsible for loss to personal injury or property.--
We do hope that this information has been helpful, and we thank you for your inquiry.
Best Regards,
Aaron

Hello,
Could you please give me a general idea of the load capacity? If the product has been tested as much as you say it has, the information must be somewhere. At the very least I need to know what "normal use" is--the guy I'm designing the library for wants to cram every shelf as full of books as it will go, and cram every bookcase as full of shelves as it will go, so while this is normal use for anyone who loves books, it may not be what IVAR was designed for.
Please advise. Right now, my two sources of information are:
1. Informal stress tests on the IVAR units we've bought
2. You
One of these methods is unlikely to bury me under 900 pounds of hardcover gardening books. Please do help. Gardening books have a wicked edge on them.

...Do they think we won't notice when they completely fail to give any useful information?
Hopefully the last email will jar something out of them. If nothing else, there's an off chance that it'll get passed around the office until someone who knows the answer sees it.
